After the conflict in Libya, the industries closed down and the Bangladeshi migrant workers became jobless and homeless.

Moreover Condition in Bahrain is not well. The gulf monarchy of the country is facing protesters demanding political reforms.  Military is going to take the command of the city there. The country has already declared a three month state of emergency. Thousands of Bangladeshi workers have already lost their jobs unpaid in Bahrain. Many migrant workers are violently attacked by anti-government protesters.

Due to global economic meltdown, Bangladesh has been facing challenges in the Gulf countries. Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, two main importers of Bangladeshi workers have decreased the rate of importing workers from Bangladesh.

Non Resident Bangladeshi

Securing Contribution of Non Resident Bangladesh: Non Resident Bangladeshi Remittance:

Remittance is the life line of Bangladesh economy. There are more than six million Bangladeshi working abroad and the remittances they send home are the country’s largest source of foreign exchange. Their income is over $9 billion, which is 11% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). At present, thousands of Bangladeshi migrant workers are returning at home as a result of global recession and political turmoil.

Non Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) is an umbrella term that embodies the expatriate Bangladeshis permanently living as immigrant communities and the migrant workers working on temporary overseas employment. The first section of people has formed ethnic minority societies known as Bangladeshi Diaspora while temporary economic migrants may be called expatriate workers. They are earning foreign currency by the sweat of their brow and sending remittance to their families. The migrant workers are sending remittance more than Diaspora members.
